Midweek at the ‘Lane…
November 11, 2008 1:15 pm Carling Cup, Liverpool
Just a quick note before we face a revitalized Tottenham in the Carling Cup…
Rafa has stated that this is basically going to be a reserve team clash for us with most of our “fringe” players getting a run out. Stevie, Carra, Kuyt, Keane & Reina are all expected to be left out to catch up on some well deserved rest. This might be a scary prospect for some but Torres needs some match practice before he get’s back to full fitness so you can damn well expect to see him out there tomorrow. Pennant, Lucas, Ngog & Yossi should all be lining up to face what will no doubt be a full strength Spurs squad packed with first team regulars.
This match could go either way at this point. I have enough faith in our “second string” to believe that they can sneak off from the ‘Lane with a little revenge and a berth into the quarter finals. Either way though, I’m not bothered. Like everyone else, I hate watching the ‘Pool lose but at this point we have much bigger fish to fry.
In other news, Bob Dylan ain’t so good live. At least he’s better than the current financial crisis. I’d rather be Bob Dylan than an economist right now.
